| Mission of the LPMA
The mission of the Louisiana Psychiatric Medical
Association, a district branch of the American Psychiatric Association is
to
- promote mental health
- support quality treatment of psychiatric
disorders
- support the professional agenda and standards of
our national organization
We pursue these goals through educating our members,
our colleagues, our patients, our community and our policy makers regarding the
symptoms, treatment, and prevention of mental illness.
We encourage interaction and networking within our
membership.
Further, we foster the formation of coalitions and
alliances among individuals and groups concerned about improving mental health
care.
